Homemade Olive Oil Soap ### Ingredients:

16 oz Olive Oil
6 oz Coconut Oil
6 oz Palm Oil
4.5 oz Lye (Sodium Hydroxide)
10 oz Distilled Water
Essential oils (optional, for fragrance)
Additives (optional, such as dried herbs or colorants)

Instructions:

Prepare your workspace by gathering all ingredients and necessary tools, including a scale, thermometer, stick blender, and soap mold.
Measure the distilled water and lye separately. Carefully add the lye to the water (never the other way around) and stir until dissolved. This mixture will heat up and release fumes, so ensure you’re in a well-ventilated area.
While the lye mixture cools to around 100-110°F, measure your oils (olive oil, coconut oil, and palm oil) in another container. Heat gently until melted and combined. Allow it to cool to the same temperature range as the lye mixture.
Once both mixtures are at the right temperature, slowly pour the lye mixture into the oils, while continuously blending with a stick blender. Mix until you achieve ’trace’ – a point where the mixture thickens and leaves a trail when drizzled over the surface.
If desired, add any essential oils or additives at this point and mix thoroughly.
Pour the soap mixture into a mold, smoothing the top with a spatula. Cover the mold with a towel and let it sit for 24-48 hours until it hardens.
Once set, remove from the mold and cut into bars. Allow the bars to cure for 4-6 weeks before using them for the best results.
